The Ogun State chapter of The Muslim Congress (TMC) has received the news of the passing of Prince Abdul-Jabar Bola Ajibola with mixed feelings considering his exceptional contributions to the progress of Islam, development of Nigeria and making the world peaceful.
TMC recalled that in his life time, the ex – judge of the International Court of Justice Hague, Netherlands, had supported the Congress both financially and morally many times.
In a statement by AbdurRasaq Ogunmoye, Wali, TMC Ogun State and made available to The Daily Crucible, the body said it, however, remained excited that the late Ajibola left this world with countless Sadaqat Jariya that would continue to be endless reward for him to the Day of reckoning.
TMC noted that as a pioneer of the first Islamic University in Nigeria, all the value that the Crescent University keeps adding to the Muslim community in Nigeria and across the world would also continue to be added to the good deeds of the deceased former Attorney – General and Minister of Justice.
According to the Congress, the impact of the Islamic Mission for Africa (IMA) which Prince Ajibola established is another testimony of his contributions to the spiritual and moral development of peoples lives.
The statement reads in part, “The Muslim Community has really loss a pillar of its support, unity and progress. It will be a great task for us to come close to his unique contributions and sustain his legacy. We acknowledge the consistent financial, moral and material supports to the success recorded by the TMC over the years.
“We are therefore deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Prince Bola Ajibola, a prominent Nigerian lawyer, jurist, and statesman who contributed immensely to the growth and development of Nigeria and the Muslim community in the country.
“As an Islamic organization based in Ogun State, we join the rest of the nation in mourning the death of this illustrious son of Nigeria. Prince Bola Ajibola was a man of great wisdom, integrity, and vision. He was a respected figure in the legal profession and a beacon of hope for many Muslims in Nigeria.
“We recognize Prince Bola Ajibola’s outstanding contributions to the legal profession, both nationally and internationally. He was the first African to be elected as the President of the International Court of Justice and also served as the Attorney General and Minister of Justice of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. His passion for justice and the rule of law was evident in the various roles he played throughout his career.
“Prince Bola Ajibola was also a devout Muslim who dedicated much of his life to the service of Allah and the Muslim community in Nigeria. He was a strong advocate for the promotion of Islamic values and ethics, and his life serves as an inspiration to many Muslims in the country.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and associates of Prince Bola Ajibola. We pray that Allah grants them the strength to bear this loss and that Prince Bola Ajibola finds a place in Jannah, in the company of the righteous.
“May Allah bless his soul and grant him eternal peace. Ameen.”
