After two months of waiting by anxious Nigerians, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu transmitted list of his Ministerial Nominees to the Nigerian Senate for scrutiny, vetting and approval or confirmation.
President Tinubu transmitted the long awaited list through his Chief of Staff and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, on Thursday.
Gbajabiamila presented the list to Senate President Godswill Akpabio at exactly 01:19pm.
Akpabio informed the Senators that the list was dated July 27, 2023 and titled, ‘Request For Confirmation Of Ministerial-Nominees.
Akpabio said additional nominations would be sent to the Senate in due course. He thereafter read the ministerial list with 28 nominees.
Former Commissioner in Cross River State and All Progressives Congress (APC) National Women Leader, Dr. Beta Edu, Stella Okotete, Doris Uzoaka, four other women, four ex – governors and 17 others made Tinubu’s first set of Ministerial Nominees.
Twenty-five per cent of the nominees are women while 75% are men. The women are Betta Edu, Doris Aniche Uzoka, Hannatu Musawa, Nkiru Onyeojiocha, Stella Okotete, Nkiru Onyeojiocha, Uju Kennedy Ohaneye and Iman Suleiman Ibrahim.
