A 100-level student of Taraba State University (TSU), Jalingo, has been reported dead in her boyfriend’s room under circumstances that have elicited both shock and panic reactions among members of the university community.
The remains of the deceased, identified as Comfort Jimtop, a Mass Communication student from Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State, were said to have been found in her boyfriend’s room on Friday afternoon.
The frightening discovery of the lifeless body, sources said, forced panic – stricken tenants in the affected residence to flee.
It learnt that empty bottles of alcohol were found beside the bed where her body lay in a compound hosting no fewer than 15 tenants, including Comfort’s boyfriend, Emmanuel Shata.
The Police Public Relations Officer of Taraba State Command, ASP Leshen James, confirmed this to the press, saying efforts were ongoing to track the fleeing tenants and the prime suspect.
Leshen said operatives of the command arrived at the residence and found nobody around, adding that apparently the boyfriend and other tenants had abandoned the house.
