Tears flowed freely from grieving relatives, colleagues, friends and sympathisers in Osogbo, Osun State capital, as the remains of the slain Lasisi Oluwamayokun, a female officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Command, and her daughter, Adesewa were committed to the mother earth on Friday.
The 38-year-old FRSC officer and her daughter were laid to rest at the cemetery of St. John’s Anglican Church, Ita-Olookan, Osogbo, amid tears and lamentations over their lives that were cut short brutally, even as many poured curses on the scoundrels who perpetrated the heinous act.
The Daily Crucible reports that Oluwamayokun and her daughter were declared missing on the morning of Sunday, November 2, 2025, after leaving their residence at Obasanjo Hilltop Estate, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State, and did nof return home afterwards.
Today, they finally returned to their ancestral homeland not as the living, but as people taking abode with their ancestors. Their disappearance assumed a frightening and tragic twist with the arrest of one Victor Fajemirokun, who is said to be the late officer’s friend.
The 40-year-old suspect had during parade by the police allegedly confessed to luring Oluwamayokun and her daughter to their deaths at the hands of some herbalists suspected to be ritualists in Osun State.
Two suspected herbalists, Gboyega Daramola and Sunday James were also paraded at the headquarters of the Osun State Police Command in Osogbo alongside Fajemirokun.
At the cemetery during the interment session, inconsolable grief-stricken family members and colleagues from the FRSC agonised and laboured to fight back dripping tears, as the remains of mother and daughter were lowered into the graves.
