Tension between the Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial district of Kogi State, Senator Natasha Akpoti- Uduaghan and President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, appeared to have eased off as the former has extended an invitation to the latter requesting him to commission some projects in Kogi Central on Sunday.
Natasha Akpoti – Uduaghan has a surfeit of projects to commission to celebrate her second anniversary in office.
The celebration according to a letter personally signed by her and addressed to the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, the senator announced that the anniversary which would hold at her residence in Ihiama would feature the commissioning of constituency projects and an empowerment programme designed to uplift the lives of the people of Kogi Central.
She further stated in her letter of invitation addressed to the Senate president which was read in the floor of the house explained that the anniversary was not only a moment of celebration but also a reflection on her legislative journey, achievements, and continuous dedication to effective representation.
Interesting and in a manner suggesting that the legislative between the due has passed, Akpabio congratulated congratulated her in advance.
Senator Akpoti- Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central senatorial district in the upper chamber expressed optimism that her colleagues’ presence at the event would underscore the spirit of unity and shared purpose among members of the 10th Senate, as they collectively work towards the advancement of the Nigerian people.
Although, a section of the media has described the invitation as an extension of an olive branch to the Senate President even when it was a normal invitation to the entire Senate.
It would be recalled that it was this same leadership of the Senate which announced her seat vacant, that has now excitedly announced the commissioning of projects to mark her two years anniversary in the Senate.
