Senator Solomon Adeola, the chairman of Senate Committee of Finance and APC senatorial candidate for Ogun West Senatorial District has promised people living in the international border areas of Ogun West Senatorial district of rapid development to address some of the challenges confronting them in their daily lives.
Addressing mammoth crowd that welcomed him in his ward to ward tour of Ipokia LGA that took him to Ilase, Ihunbo, Ifoyintedo, Ajegunle and Idiroko, senator Adeola stated that it was no fault of the inhabitants that they are at the ‘gateway’ to the international border with the Republic of Benin.
He added that in the shortest possible time the border will be reopened after consultation with the Customs and other relevant authorities.
“I am aware of your pains following the policy of no fuel station 20 kilometers to the international border. And even after the 20 kilometres, only two stations are available for you for fuel purchase at present around the border. I am going to facilitate the operation of more filling stations to ease your plight. The incident of killing of our people by security agents must also stop henceforth. It is part of my goal to end these regrettable incidents of killing of our people,” he stated.
The senator called on all those yet to collect their PVCs to do so and vote for all APC candidates adding that with an Asiwaju Bola Tinubu Presidency and his status as a ranking senator in the 10th Senate, issues of border will be easily resolved
The Senator, who is the Aremo of Yewaland in Ogun West, stated that Ogun West people are supporting Prince Dapo Abiodun for second term of just four more years as that is a better bargain for Ogun West to move closer to the exalted seat of governor of the state that had eluded them since the creation of the state adding that the people of Ogun West cannot support another Iperu man at this time as that would mean a stretch of 12 years waiting for Ogun West.
“It is regrettable that one of us from Ipokia, Hon. Abdulkabir Kunle Taju Akinlade that contested for the position of governor in 2019 has now turned a betrayer not only to his former benefactor and master but a betrayer to his people and the cause of Yoruba in 2023 in his acceptance of deputy governorship to another Iperu man. The price of this odious betrayal is said to be a Bullet Proof Jeep, a Hilux Jeep and N150 million. On my honour, I will replace all these if he tows the path of honour to return the inducement for his shameful betrayal,” he stated.
Senator Adeola promised to empower 1000 Market men and women from Ipokia LGA and 5000 women and youths trained in skills acquisition across Ogun West before the February 25 election adding that from his antecedents as a repeatedly re-elected legislator, a new dawn beckons for the people of Ogun West in effective representation.
Also speaking at the tour, Alhaja Salmot Badru, former deputy governor of Ogun State and a foremost Ipokia daughter, said that Ogun West will be better for it if they elect Senator Adeola as senator as he has done so much for the district even before he begins to represent the district.
Among prominent sons and daughters of Ogun West on his entourage were Alhaji Muftau Ajibola, Mr. M.A Obanla, Chief Olu Agemo, Alhaji Bisiriyu Popoola, Chief (Mrs) Iyabo Apampa, Hon. Kayode Oladele, Alhaji Alli Ajibode and Alhaji Mohammed Ekueme, the APC Ogun West Senatorial District chairman, according to Chief Kayode Odunaro, Director Publicity and Communications, Senator Solomon Adeola Campaign Organisation for Ogun West.
