Hurting nollywood actress, Doris Ogala, has served a pre-action notice on founder of Grace Nation Ministry, Chris Okafor, for allegedly breaching his marriage promise to her and going ahead to marry another lady.
Ogala who claimed to have been alleged in a relationship with the defaulting Pastor Okafor since 2017 is also demanding N1billion payment as remedy for the financial, emotional and psychological harm the breach of contract had caused her.
The actress who has been in tears after a video of Okafor’s engagement to another lady began to trend on social media and the eventual consummation of the marriage few days ago despite her avowed threat to stop it, gave Okafor up to 21 days to pay the N1billion or risk court action.
Some of the photos from Okafor’s white wedding and traditional marriage ceremonies slipped into the Internet and social media online on Wednesday.
Distraught Ogala claimed that she left her previous marriage at Okafor’s behest and accused him of betraying her after years of sizzling intimacy and assurances of marriage.
She also claimed that Okafor shared revealing videos of her without permission, also subjecting her to harassment and financial exploitation.
Ogala alleged that she used her personal funds to assist Okafor and his associates to secure a contract, but was not fully paid.
Ogala’s grievances and demand were contained in a letter dated December 16 and addressed to Okafor, through her counsel, who accused the pastor of breaching a promise of marriage and demanded N1 billion in damages.
The letter claimed that Okafor initiated a pastoral relationship with Ogala during a difficult period in her marriage and made “clear, consistent, and unequivocal” promises to marry her.
The counsel further alleged that Ogala entrusted Okafor with N45 million based on the trust between them, and accused him of repudiating the promise of marriage in a public manner that caused reputational and psychological harm.
The letter also claimed that Ogala’s nude photographs were “maliciously and unauthorisedly” disclosed, demanding payment within 21 days as compensation for aggravated and general damages.
“Commencing in 2017, you initiated a personal and pastoral relationship with our client during a period of her marital distress. In the course of offering pastoral assistance, you provided a clear, consistent, and unequivocal promise of marriage to our client,” the letter reads.
“This promise was not merely verbal. You actively introduced our client to your family, including your children who saw in our client a worthy stepmother-to-be. We reviewed pictorial evidence of our client in family dress together with your family at functions.
“Clearly influenced and enticed by your promise, our client took the irreversible step of leaving her troubled marriage, forfeiting the opportunity to seek reconciliation or repair due to the security provided by your promise.
“Based on the high level of trust established by your promise, our client granted you access to her financial affairs, resulting in the entrustment of N45 million in a single transaction.
“You have repudiated your promise by announcing your engagement to another woman. This act constitutes a clear breach of contract and has been executed in an egregious public manner, causing severe and actionable harm to our client.
“Your actions have caused severe injured feelings and wounded pride. Our client was deliberately made vulnerable by you, and you have acted unsparingly in your betrayal.
“We are informed that you caused a malicious, unauthorized disclosure of our client’s nude photographs, which you obtained by reason of your promise to marry her. This photograph has been widely circulated.
“We demand that you pay our client the sum of N1 billion within twenty-one (21) days. This amount represents aggravated and general damages for the breach itself, the irreparable harm to her reputation, her psychological and physical health, and the egregious public manner of the execution of the breach.”
On Wednesday (yesterday), Ogala stepped up the fight and piled up more allegations against Chris Okafor.
In a renewed onslaught on Instagram yesterday, she alleged concerning the new wife, “That man raped that girl and got her pregnant. Her mother is the choir coordinator at Okafor’s church and they insisted that he had to marry the girl or else they will disgrace and expose him.
“Okafor had to marry that girl because he doesn’t want to be exposed. He had someone who he was supposed to marry in 2024, the girl sent me his naked video. This man is a beast.”
