The immediate past senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District, Lekan Mustapha has facilitated tricycles empowerment for the APC party faithful/youths in the Senatorial District.
Distributing the tricycles, the senator ably represented by his Senior Legislative Aide SLA, Barrister Bayo Osikomaya stated that the tricycles are meant to assist in empowering the beneficiaries to start up their entrepreneurial journey and enhance their financial independence.
He added that the gesture was in fulfilment of Senator Mustapha’s promise to empower Youths in the Senatorial district.
“This programme is aimed at eradicating poverty and empowering our youths and party members in Ogun East Senatorial district to have access to economic well-being.
“Youths are very critical to nation-building, Senator Mustapha has carried out several empowerment programmes for the youths especially.
“We had recently given out laptop computers to hundreds of unemployed youths recently trained in Information Communication Technology (ICT) in the senatorial district.
“As Senator representing Ogun East at the 9th Senate, Senator Mustapha has facilitated Several projects including construction/renovation of schools, roads, health centres, streets lightning and so on.”
Osikomaya urged the beneficiaries to use the tricycles to improve the lives of their families and communities.
Most of the beneficiaries who spoke praised the senator for bringing succour to the people of Ogun East Senatorial District and called on other party representatives from the Senatorial district to emulate Senator Lekan Mustapha by contributing their quotas to the development of the senatorial district.
The 1st phase of the tricycle distribution to the beneficiaries had all the APC party chairmen of the nine local governments that makes up Ogun East Senatorial District in attendance.
