The Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council, Comrade Bunmi Adigun, has congratulated the Kurùnmí of Ìjàyè-Ègbáland, Aare (Prof.) Láí Lábodé, on the occasion of his first anniversary in the revered traditional institution office, describing his one-year reign as a period marked by visionary leadership, unity, and remarkable community development.
In a congratulatory message, Adigun, who traced his ancestral roots to the Oladosu Compound on his paternal side and the Anigbio Compound on his maternal side in Ìjàyè, praised the traditional ruler for redefining leadership through purposeful service and an unwavering commitment to the progress of the ancient town.
According to him, the monarch’s first year in office has brought renewed hope, greater visibility, and a resurgence of pride among sons and daughters of Ìjàyè, both at home and in the diaspora.
He noted that Aare Lábodé’s reign has elevated the profile of Ìjàyè-Ègbáland, positioning the community as a destination of excellence and promise while preserving its rich cultural heritage.
“As someone whose paternal and maternal heritage is firmly rooted in Ìjàyè, I have watched with immense pride as your administration continues to inspire confidence and attract meaningful development,” Adigun stated.
He commended the monarch’s accessibility, wisdom, and commitment to fostering peace, inclusiveness, and unity, adding that these qualities have earned him admiration across Egbaland and beyond.
Acting in his capacity as the Secretary of the NUJ, Ogun State Council, Adigun also lauded the traditional ruler for appreciating the importance of truth, dialogue, and community engagement, values he said resonate strongly with the journalism profession.
He prayed for God’s continued guidance, sound health, wisdom, and long life for the monarch, expressing hope that his reign would usher in greater peace, unprecedented development, and lasting prosperity for Ìjàyè-Ègbáland.
