Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, has promised to establish a New Towns Development Authority and revitalise the Ogun State Road Maintenance Agency, Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency and Ogun State Waste Management Agency if elected governor in 2027.
According to a press release issued on October 25, 2026, by Chief Kayode Odunaro, Media Adviser to Senator Adeola and Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee of the Ogun State APC Campaign Council, the senator made the pledges during an interactive session with Remo Collectives, a sociocultural group of accomplished and upwardly mobile Remo indigenes, over the weekend.
The APC governorship candidate also promised to establish a Ministry of Wealth Creation under his nine-pillar ITESIWAJU Agenda, which he explained to the select audience in the presence of Oba Babatunde Ajayi, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland.
Senator Adeola said the proposed New Towns Development Authority would be responsible for developing new towns with modern infrastructure, while existing towns and communities would be developed and preserved as historical legacies.
He explained that the proposed Ministry of Wealth Creation would build on his empowerment initiatives by providing skills training for youths and women and subsequently empowering beneficiaries to establish livelihoods and create jobs.
Responding to calls for the upgrading of Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu, the senator promised to work with Governor Dapo Abiodun to revitalise the state’s flagship tertiary healthcare institution before December. He stressed that inclusive healthcare and well-being were critical components of his ITESIWAJU Agenda.
“As we speak, I am facilitating a four-storey hospital building to be fully equipped at Remo General Hospital, and it is at the roofing stage now, with completion set for December.
Similarly, 14 similar projects are ongoing across the state,” he stated.
Senator Adeola commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for implementing economic reforms which, he said, were yielding results and attracting international recognition.
He cited reports that JPMorgan, a leading international financial institution, was set to expand its operations in Nigeria, adding that the President had addressed major macroeconomic challenges and that the benefits of the reforms would gradually trickle down to ordinary Nigerians.
The APC governorship candidate also praised Governor Abiodun for laying a solid economic foundation upon which he intends to build his ITESIWAJU Agenda.
“The governor has laid a solid economic foundation for the state through legacy projects such as the International Cargo Airport, the dry inland ports in Ijebu and Egba, and the proposed $7 billion deep seaport. This foundation places Ogun State in a position to compete favourably with Lagos State in revenue generation, economic expansion and growth,” he stated.
Senator Adeola further disclosed that he had facilitated more than 36 infrastructure projects across Remoland in various sectors, including road construction, education, solar-powered streetlights, rural electrification, modern markets, information and communication technology (ICT) centres, and primary healthcare centres.
Earlier, Oba Ajayi urged the APC governorship candidate to steer clear of the agitation for state creation and instead focus on the creation of additional local government areas or local development areas for Remoland. He suggested that Sagamu could be divided into three or four local government areas.
The Akarigbo also commended Senator Adeola for attracting development to Remoland, noting that he had done so without unnecessary publicity. He specifically acknowledged the construction of the road leading to his palace, alongside other infrastructure projects.
In his welcome address, Mr Akintayo Rabiu, President of Remo Collectives, who was represented by his Vice President, Mr Olumide Onimole, said the group invited Senator Adeola to discuss his development plans for Ogun State in general and Remoland in particular.
He explained that the group was committed to promoting development and improving the welfare of the people of Remoland.
Dignitaries at the event included Oba Adewale Oshiberu, the Elepe of Epe; elder statesman Otunba Kola Oyefeso, the Aare Gbo Gbo of Remoland and President of KOKTO Group of Companies; Hon. Gboyega Nosiru Isiaka (APC, Imeko-Afon/Yewa North Federal Constituency) and Hon. Laolu Olabimtan, Ogun State Commissioner for Budget and Planning.
Others included Hon. Yemi Adelani, Ogun State APC Organising Secretary; Prince Deji Ashiru, Managing Director of the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority; and Hon. Daisi Akintan, former Chairman of Sagamu Local Government Area.
