The Olu of Lisa kingdom, Oba Najeemdeen Oladele Odugbemi has urged the federal government to provide immediate palliative measures to ease the economic tension in the country orchestrated by its policies and programmes.
Oba Odugbemi who stated this on Wednesday to celebrate his 67 birthday noted that the policies of the current administration which are aimed at revamping the nation’s lost glory should be implemented with human face.
While acknowledging the sufferings of masses in the country, he advised President Bola Tinubu to look for means and ways to ameliorate the sufferings of the people.
He said though, the policies are yielding positive results, the royal father called on the government to redouble its efforts through implementation of economic measures that will drastically reduce the hardship and tension in the country.
The Olu of Lisa kingdom who disclosed that the various palliatives of government are not yielding any result because they were going to the wrong hands and more importantly not achieving the expected results.
Oba Odugbemi advised President Tinubu to re-strategise and re-engineering his economic policies so that the short term programmes of such policies can quickly address the sufferings of Nigerians.
The royal father who also enjoined Nigerians to support the present administration, pleaded with the citizens to be patience and endure
with the government for the economic turnaround of the country.
He implored traditional rulers in Nigeria to compliment the efforts of the government aimed at revamping the ailing economy, charging them to reorientate their subjects in their various communities to have understanding on government policies and programmes.
Oba Odugbemi assured Nigerians that the country will be greater again adding that the present administration needs the collective efforts, supports and prayers of every Nigerian to fast track socio- economic growth and development of the country.
