A palpably distraught female marketing staff of a deposit bank – Globus bank in Ikorodu area of Lagos state has allegedly committed su!cide inside one of the bank’s toilets.
The seemingly stressed and frustrated lady identified as Amarachi Ugochukwu ended her life, citing increasing economic hardship as one of the reasons for ending her sojourn on earth.
Police sources said Amarachi was found dead inside the staff toilet of the bank in the Ikorodu area of the state on Monday, January 8.
The bank’s manager reported the tragic incident to the police the same day it happened.
It was learnt that the bank manager observed that Amarachi’s phone was found ringing many times on her table without her answering, a development that prompted her colleagues to go searching for her.
One of the office’s toilets was forced open after it was found locked from inside with no one opening it. Her lifeless body was eventually discovered on the floor alongside a bottle of an insecticide which she reportedly injested to take her life.
Also found beside her was a suicide note where she lamented about how bad her life had been. A doctor was called in and confirmed her dead.
Detectives attached to the Ikorodu Divisional Police Headquarters moved to the scene and evacuated the remains of the lady to the Ikorodu General Hospital where an autopsy is expected to be conducted on her corpse.
