The State Commander, National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Ogun State Command, CN Tijjani Rabe, has decorated fifty-eight (58) officers who were promoted to their new ranks.
A release by the Public Relations Officer of the NDLEA Ogun State Command, ASN Haris A. Musa, on behalf of the State Commander, CN Tijjani Rabe, revealed that the colourful ceremony on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at the Command Headquarters, Abeokuta revealed that the decorated officers comprised 17 Senior Narcotic Agents (SNA)19 Chief Narcotic Agents (CNA), nine (9) Assistant Superintendents of Narcotics II (ASN II) and 13 Assistant Superintendents of Narcotics I (ASN I).
The event also served to formally recognise the officers who were recently elevated to higher ranks after the Agency’s promotion exercise and had in attendance, the Commissioner, Ogun State Ministry of Sports Development, Alhaji Wasiu Isiaka, alongside other distinguished dignitaries, and senior officers of the Command.
In his goodwill message, Isiaka congratulated the newly decorated officers and commended the State Command of the NDLEA for its sustained efforts in combating drug abuse and illicit trafficking. He acknowledged the positive transformations recorded by the Command under the leadership of CN Tijjani Rabe, noting that his long-standing professional relationship with the State Commander has continued to foster effective collaboration and improved operational outcomes.
Speaking at the ceremony, the State Commander, CN Tijjani Rabe impressed upon the officers the gravity of the responsibilities that accompany their elevated ranks, emphasizing that the insignia they now wear serves as a tangible representation of their unwavering commitment to service, integrity, and excellence.
He stressed that it is imperative for them to uphold these values in all aspects of their duties, as they embody the highest standards of leadership and professionalism. By doing so, they will not only honor the trust placed in them but also inspire their colleagues and perpetuate a culture of excellence within the Agency.
Furthermore, Commander Rabe exhorted the officers to uphold the highest standards of conduct and to prioritise their personal and professional growth. He encouraged them to pursue opportunities for training, education, and self-development that will enhance their skills and knowledge, recognizing that continuous improvement is essential for optimal performance and leadership.
He added that by investing in their own growth, they will not only become more effective in their roles but also set a compelling example for those they lead and serve, fostering a culture of excellence and inspiring others to strive for similar heights of achievement.
Meanwhile, The Daily Crucible reports that in a decisive operations barely three days to the close of year 2025, the Command Inflicted a crushing blow to the drug trade in the state, further affirming its unwavering commitment to the suppression of illicit drug trafficking.
Acting on intelligence, operatives of the Command conducted a targeted operation at the Rounder Abeokuta, on December 28, 2025, where a warehouse used for the storage of illicit substances was uncovered and a haul of Cannabis Sativa concealed inside a Honda Ridgeline pickup vehicle was alao discovered.
The operation culminated in the arrest of one Fatokun Rahmon “M” 49 years of age, while a total of 347 kilograms of Cannabis Sativa was recovered.
This decisive interception highlighted the operational alertness, intelligence-driven strategy, and relentless enforcement posture of the Command.
