The aspiration of former Senate Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu, emerging the President of the 10th Senate, has suffered a major setback, as his Bende Constituents have roundly rejected his aspiration while throwing their weights behind Senator Godswill Akpabio for the office of the Senate President and Hon Benjamin Kalu as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
A statement issued in Bende by the All Old Bende Youth Movement, Abia State and signed by its National President, Hon Uchendu Udensi, National Vice president Chinedu Ukpai, and National Secretary George Iboko and made available to newsmen, condemned and dissociated the people of Old Bende, from his ambition to lead the 10th Senate.
The statement reads: “We the all Old Bende Youth Movement Nation wide expresses dissatisfaction and lack of trust on persons no matter how highly placed from Old Bende to represent as Senate President or Deputy Senate President due to past records experienced from such persons as generally testified.
“We the the all Old Bende Youth Movement Nation Wide holds highly such a youthful, visionary personality as us in the person of Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu as the most faithful and trusted fit to occupy the position of Deputy Speaker Federal House of Representatives Nigeria.”
