The Olubadan-designate, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, has declared that given his trajectory regarding monarchy and challenges, his journey to becoming the Olubadan of Ibadanland.is God’s ordained.
Oba Ladoja made the declaration on Monday in a release by the Chief Press Secretary to the Olubadan, Chief Solomon Olugbemiga Ayoade.
The former governor who made a triumphant arrival at his family home in Isale-Osi, Ibadan, on Monday at 1:20 PM, added that Only God chooses Olubadan, stressing that the choice of Olubadan is not by power, might, riches or wisdom but by God
The Olubadan – designate was, however warmly received by family members and friends who gathered to celebrate this suspicious moment.
They also organised special interfaith prayer session – Muslim, Christian and traditions – in his honour for the emerging new office.
The monarch later proceeded to his residence in Bodija later as preparations progressed for the upcoming coronation rites.
However, addressing guests at his Bodija residence, Ladoja said: “Only God chooses Olubadan, the choice of Olubadan is not by power, might, riches or wisdom but by God. My becoming Olubadan of Ibadanland is God’s ordained considering the challenges faced before reaching the pinnacle of Ibadan traditional rulership.”
He appealed to indigenes and residents of the ancient city of Ibadan to put the interest of the nation first, urging them to support the leaders at the local, state, and federal levels.
