The Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has been praised for transforming the state’s political and economic landscape, restoring public confidence in governance, and driving far-reaching reforms across key sectors.
Media professionals under the aegis of the Nigerian Media Professionals Group described AbdulRazaq’s administration as one that has created “a new moral climate” and inspired renewed hope among the people of the state.
“History will record the administration of AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as one of the most important and far-reaching in Kwara State,” the group stated.
The group commended the governor for promoting unity, improving the welfare of farmers, reducing unemployment, strengthening organised labour, and improving working conditions across the state.
According to them, the administration’s enduring achievements lie in the economic and social sectors, where it has implemented reforms, expanded infrastructure, and delivered democratic dividends to the people.
“The more enduring achievements of AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq lie in the economic and social fields. He has accomplished a remarkable series of reforms, provided infrastructure, delivered the dividends of democracy, and elevated the status of the people,” the statement added.
The commendation was made during a press conference held in Lagos, where the media professionals highlighted the governor’s passion for the development of Kwara State, his problem-solving approach to governance, and his dedication to the welfare of the people.
The position of the group was presented by its chairman, Daniel Okeme, on Wednesday.
The group also defended the administration against critics, insisting that the transformation witnessed under AbdulRazaq is unprecedented in the history of the state.
“Nothing like this has ever happened in the history of Kwara State,” the group declared.
Particular praise was given to the governor’s reforms in the finance, health, education, sports, housing, and tourism sectors, which they said have repositioned the state for sustainable growth.
“This is one of the most joyous periods in the life of Kwara State. It represents a rebirth after years of stagnation,” they said.
The media professionals further applauded AbdulRazaq’s commitment to human capital development, innovative governance, public service, and his ability to simplify complex challenges with practical solutions.
They also urged the people of Kwara Central to support the governor for a Senate seat in 2027, describing him as competent, practical, disciplined, and trustworthy.
“AbdulRazaq possesses the qualities required for the Senate. He is moderate and practical in approach, brilliant, competent, efficient, and honourable in financial matters. He will continue to work in the interest of the people of Kwara State,” the group stated.
