The Department of Mass Communication, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, has congratulated Dr. Waheed Ogunjobi on the conferment and eventual convocation of his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree by the Senate of Lagos State University (LASU).
The historic academic milestone was marked at the university’s convocation ceremony on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
In a congratulatory message issued on behalf of the students and staff of the department, the Head of Department, Mass Communication, MAPOLY, Dr. Wasiu Tejuoso, described Ogunjobi’s achievement as a testament to his consistency, academic growth and intellectual prowess.
Tejuoso noted that Ogunjobi’s academic journey had been marked by determination and excellence, recalling his development from his days as a student at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic.
“We have no doubt when you started that with Allah’s grace, you will sure conclude it in flying colours,” Tejuoso said, expressing pride in Ogunjobi’s latest academic accomplishment.
The MAPOLY Mass Communication Department further prayed for divine blessings, wisdom and greater accomplishments for the new PhD holder, urging him to continue to grow and make meaningful contributions to academia and society.
The department described the achievement as a source of pride to the institution and wished Ogunjobi continued success in his academic and professional endeavours.
The statement read in part:”On behalf of the entire students and staff of the Department of Mass Communication, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, I write to officially congratulate you on the earlier conferment of your PhD degree and the eventual convocation on Wednesday 19th August, 2026 by the Senate of the Lagos State University, Nigeria.
“We have no doubt when you started that with Allah’s grace, you will sure conclude it in flying colours. Your antecedents since you were a student in MAPoly showed consistency in your academic growth and prowess and we are so proud of your exploits.
“We pray Allah to put barakah in this new feat, grant you more wisdom to carry on; and make you a better version of your desire.”
