Ogun State. A female learner has rammed a Toyota Camry car into a Tricycle carrying passengers, killing three people – all males, and injuring four others in the process.
The accident which occured in Ijebu – Igbo – Oru axis of Ijebu North Local Government Area of the State, followed loss of control by the learner, leading the Camry car to collide head on with the tricycle.
The impact, it was learnt, shoved the tricycle and its passengers into a roadside drainage channel, and forcing some angry residents to set the camry car ablaze and attacked traffic control operatives.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps(TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, who confirmed the accident, said the remains of the dead were taken to the Best Care Hospital Ago-Iwoye by sympathizers before the operatives arrived the scene.
“Traffic was affected as the Toyota Muscle was set ablaze while attempt to take pictures by uniform personnel were met with mob attacks but TRACE operatives were able to carried out strategic traffic control some few metres from the point to avoid traffic bottleneck while the dead and the injured have been taken to Best Care Hospital at Ago-Iwoye before our arrival,” Akinbiyi said
