Chief (Dr) Mrs Matilda Iyabode Apampa turns 75 today August 6, 2023.
As usual, she has opted to celebrate the landmark event in the presence of God Almighty who has graciously granted her the grace to live thus far.
Mrs Apampa will be having a Thanksgiving Service at the Headquarters of her Church, the New Covenant Apostolic Church International, in Ibadan.
A veteran Politician, Astute Public Administrator, Philanthropist, Religious Leader and Advocate for Women Empowerment, Apampa is a member of the Ogun State Elders Council, a member of the Apex Body of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, former member of the Board of Trustees of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the first female Chairman of the Board of Directors, Odua Group of Companies.
She has been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of many Federal and State Governments’ Agencies including Chairman, Ogun-Oshun River Basin Development Authority; Chairman, Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Abeokuta; Chairman,Assurance Bank Plc and a Former Commissioner for Education in Ogun State.
She is presently a member of the Governing Council of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye.
Apampa has had many awards and laurels bestowed on her; including honorary doctorate award from the Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijebu-Ode.
For her outstanding roles in Community Development, she was nominated by the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, HRM Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle as the Ilaro-Yewa Community representative in the Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro.
I, as one of her numerous mentees, wish her Happy Birthday, many happy returns of the day in good health and many more useful years of service to Ogun State, Nigeria and mankind in general.
