The Chairman, Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State, Hon. Surah Animashaun has assured the people of her local government area that more dividend of democracy will come their way soon.
This was as Animashaun said the interventions so far carried out in her council were tips of the iceberg, noting that they should expect more dividend of democracy in the council area of Lagos State.
The Daily Crucible had in its September 17 publication captioned, “Please, Epe LG Boss Should Remember The Electorates,” written by Balogun Orunbon, chronicled among other things, the pitiable and pathetic state of Odubote-Nitel, Oke-Posu, Ajanosi, Ajagannabe, Eyinde, Alausa, roads under her locality and needing little patching at some spots just as bad spots at Oke-Balogun Street, then Etitun, Shade, Papa, Erepoto and recreation ground link roads have remained are a zone of nightmare to motorists.
However, in an apparent demonstration of a Council administrator with a listening ear to the factual, hurtful truth, Hon. Animashaun in a statement after an assessment tour of the ongoing projects at Wale-Logun, Akodu, Shagari Housing Estate Gate, and Egbekunle, in Papa, As well as S. Rahaman and Alhaja Khadijat Kareem street, in the local government area of the state, assured that areas like, Etitun, Ajanosi, Ajagannabe, NITEL-Odubote and other roads in the council would also witness massive reconstruction and rehabilitation.
The Chairman said within her two and half years of stewardship she has uphold the principles of justice, fairness, equitable distribution of dividends of democracy with equal transformation and sustainable developments across the council areas – Alausa, Ita-Opo, Papa, Itarabugba and many areas of Epe Local Government.
“Let me assure you that within the remaining some months left before 2025 local government election in the state, you will witness more dividends of democracy through the provision of more economic empowerments and developmental projects for all.
“Let me use this opportunity to reiterate my commitment to you that the best of me will still continue to come to you all. My current achievements in office are just a tips of the iceberg as I will continue to do my best.
“As we are witnessing these projects in the history of our dear local government, let us reflect the achievements recorded within last two and half years despite the economic challenges but with collectives responsibilities the council will overcoming all its challenge.
“Indeed, I can say it boldly here that we have surpassed in the comity of local governments in Lagos state, especially in term of infrastructural facilities, like; good road networks, provision of healthcare facilities, provisions of books, bags and uniforms to pupils in public schools and the procurement of two ambulances to our hospital for any emergencies,” Animashaun said
Animashaun implored the people of Etitun, Ajagannabe, NITEL-Odubote roads to be patient with the present administration, saying that the local government council would soon move engineers to rehabilitate those roads to ameliorate the hardships of pedestrians, motorists and commuters being faced.
“In fact, we will leave no stone unturned in the provisions of social amenities for our people, especially the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the raods mentioned above and other roads in the council, all you need to do, is to just be patient with the present administration, we will do everything possible within our means to fix the roads,” Surah Animashaun said
