Hon. AbdulRasheed Kashamu, son of late Senator Buruji Kashamu, has distributed food items – noodles, rice, others and cash, to over 4,000 children, physically challenged persons and the aged in Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State to celebrate this year’s Eid – El – Fitr for them..
The young Kashamu who is of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Minority Chief Whip in the Ogun State House of Assembly and represents Ijebu North 1 State Constituency, doled out the items to the beneficiaries as they surged into his late father’s country home in Ijebu – Igbo after the Eid prayers.
He said caring for the needy and downtrodden members of the society is a tradition and legacy bequeathed to the family by his late father, Senator Buruji Kashamu, who passed on in 2020, stressing that those he left behind had vowed to sustain the practice.
The 27 – year – old state Iawmaker urged wealthy Nigerians to remember the needy and less privileged in their communities and strive to support them, especially at this economically trying period, pledging to use quality legislation and representation to serve his Constituency.
He said, “We have been doing it every year. It is a tradition in Kashamu family. Every year, we try to reach out to many people as possible and uplift them, help them and feed them. That is the essence of the whole thing.
“I will like to implore others who are in privileged positions to learn from this and do the same. I’m here for them and I will continue to give quality representation. I will continue to do my best to make sure that Ijebu Igbo is placed on the path of more development.”
