Celebrity businessman and nightlife promoter, Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has reportedly failed in his attempt to secure the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency in Imo State.
The socialite, who currently serves as the Imo State Coordinator of the City Boys Movement, had sought the party’s nomination to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives.
Following the outcome, reactions flooded social media, with several users mocking his defeat and claiming he may have underestimated the realities of Nigerian politics.
Reacting to the criticism, Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, Ossai Ovie Success, defended Cubana Chief Priest and condemned the mockery.
“Why are people mocking Cubana Chief Priest? Not nice… it’s okay to try and try again. He lost an election and so what? I am disappointed,” he wrote on Facebook.
