A state high court sitting in Sagamu, Ogun State, has granted an ex parte interim order stopping any planned demolishing or tampering with the property of former governor of the state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, and his wife, Yeye Olufunke Daniel
The ex – parte order which was obtained by Daniel and Yeye Olufunke Daniel as applicants was granted by Justice O.S. Oloyede, in a suit marked HCS/371/2025.
The couple instituted the suit against the quartet of the Governor of Ogun State (Prince Dapo Abiodun), Attorney General of Ogun State, Ogun State Planning & Development Permit Authority and Ogun State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Development – who were listed as defendants/respondents.
The order comes on the heels of the “Quit Notices and threats to demolish” which were served on the applicants on August 8 by the respondents concerning their Sagamu property.
A Certified True Copy (CTC) of the order dated August 12, 2025 and signed by W.T. Ogundele, the Principal Registrar, restrained the respondents, their agents or proxies from “demolishing or in any way or manner tampering with the property” of the applicants known as Aseludero Court located along Awolowo Avenue, Sagamu GRA.
The order directed the respondents or their agents not to give effects to the notices pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit.
The court interim order also restrained the respondents, their agents or proxies from further trespassing or any way disturbing the applicants from enjoying the quiet possession of the said property covered by the Certificate of Occupancy No 024698 dated April 21, 2005 and later replaced by a new computerized Certificate of Occupancy No. LUD3/LR2693 dated January 20, 2010pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit.
Similarly, same court also granted an ex – parte order to two corporate applicants – Conference Hotel Limited and Blue Chapel Limited, in a suit marked HCS/372/2025 against the quartet of the Governor of Ogun State (Prince Dapo Abiodun), Attorney General of Ogun State, Ogun State Planning & Development Permit Authority and Ogun State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Development – who were designated as defendants/respondents.
Daniel, who is the Senator representing Ogun East in the 10th National Assembly, has stake in the Conference Hotel Limited and Blue Chapel Limited.

The court interim order also restrained the respondents, their agents or proxies from further trespassing or any way disturbing the applicants from enjoying the quiet possession of property covered by the Certificate of Occupancy dated April 8, 2004 and marked 51, page 51 volume 612 pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit.
The two suits have been adjourned till August 19, 2025 for hearing.
