President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Dr. Betta Edu as Director of Women Mobilisation for the APC Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the January 2027 general election.
The appointments, announced on Saturday, also saw key figures from the 2023 campaign return to strategic positions as the party ramps up preparations for the presidential poll.
Key Appointments
James Abiodun Faleke returns as Deputy Director-General for Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring. He will coordinate activities across the six geopolitical zones.
Supporting Faleke as Secretaries of the Election Planning Directorate are Stella Okotete, Engr. Abdullahi Garba Ramat, and Audu Maikori.
Legal and Media Teams Named
The Legal Directorate will be headed by Muiz Adeyemi Banire, SAN, with Dr. Liman Hassan and Babatunde Ogala as deputies. Members include AGF Lateef Fagbemi, former Governor Ibrahim Shema, Worgu Boms, and Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh.
For Media and Strategic Communication, Minister of Information Mohammed Idris was named Coordinating Director. He will work alongside Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga, and Lanre Issa-Onilu.
Four Coordinating Deputy Directors were also named: Tunde Rahman, Sunday Dare, Daniel Bwala, and Felix Morka.
The directorate’s secretariat will be run by Abdulaziz AbdulAziz, Temitope Ajayi, Arabinrin Aderonke, and Frederick Nwabufor.
Segun Dada returns as *Director of New Media, with Solomon Arowolo as Secretary.
The party also constituted a five-member spokesperson team led by Dele Alake. Other spokespersons are Alwan Hassan, Ayobami Oyalowo, Kemi Asekun-Shittu, and Adamu Fanda.
In his charge to the council, President Tinubu urged members to work hard to deliver victory for the APC in 2027.
“We have delivered on our campaign promises and set our country on a path of economic progress,” the President said.
The appointments are part of the broader campaign structure unveiled by the APC to mobilise support across demographics and regions ahead of the election.
