Villa maintained their intensity after the restart and sealed the emphatic victory when Morgan Rogers tapped home the third goal.
The triumph also saw Unai Emery extend his remarkable record in the competition, winning the Europa League for a fifth time after previous successes with Sevilla and Villarreal.
Villa’s success could also boost England’s representation in next season’s Champions League, with the Premier League potentially earning six spots if Villa finish fifth in the table.
