The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 36-year-old woman, Anulika Onyeanusia, for allegedly using her minor daughter to produce explicit content for online profit in Onitsha.
The command also rescued four children aged 2, 3, 6 and 9 years during the operation carried out last week.
“Disturbing Video” Triggers Arrest
In a statement on Monday, the command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said police received a disturbing video of the suspect allegedly using a sex toy on a minor.
According to Ikenga, the suspect is alleged to have used her daughter to create adult content that generated income for her online.
“The suspect is currently in police custody as the command intensifies its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged offence and the possible involvement of other persons,” Ikenga stated.
The police image-maker said operatives also recovered sex toys android other items relevant to the investigation during the raid.
Ikenga added that the suspect’s husband is being interrogated to determine whether he had any connection to the alleged crime.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Nnanna Oji Ama described the alleged act as “unacceptable, particularly because it involves the exploitation and abuse of children who are incapable of protecting themselves.”
CP Ama has directed a thorough and professional investigation and ordered that the rescued children receive appropriate care and protection.
Suspect Denies Allegation
However, the suspect denied the allegation, claiming that the circulating videos were AI-generated.
The command said investigation is ongoing to establish the authenticity of the videos and to fish out other possible collaborators.
