Deliverance gone awry. Hers is a pathetic case of a Nigerian mother who carried her healthy one – year – old son to her pastor for prayer and blessing but went back home with emotionally draining, physically tasking and financially crippling lifelong challenges.
The woman who is an indigene of Anambra State and single mother now because of the challenges, opened up about the painful experience that changed her life forever — after her one-year-old son developed cerebral palsy during what was supposed to be a “deliverance session” at her husband’s church.
In a video that’s now making rounds online, the woman recounted how it all began as a normal prayer session. She said her son, who was just a year and four months old at the time, was next in line when the pastor suddenly claimed that the boy had a big star and was “chained by the enemy.”
She said the pastor advised that a deliverance must be done for the boy immediately to break the yoke and release him from the enemy.
During the process, the woman said the pastor turned her little boy upside down — and that was the moment everything changed inexorably.
Afterwards, her son reportedly slipped into seizures and soon became a frequent occurrence, leading to a brain injury, which doctors diagnosed as cerebral palsy.
“My son had brain injury. It was an accident that occurred in a church. A pastor turned his head upside down when he was praying for him. He was not born with cerebral palsy. We were in a church and that was the church my son’s father attended at the time. The pastor requested that children should be brought for prayer and deliverance. When it was my son’s turn to pray for him, he said that my son had a very big star that he saw that enemies had seen it on time and they have used chain to tie him and that he needs to untie the chain. So, he turned him upside down just because he wanted to pray for him and my son started having seizures.
“His name is Muna and his father left when my son was two years old. Ever since then it has been me carrying the burden. His father left us because he felt he could not handle the situation after the process of my son becoming cerebral palsy and a special need child. I don’t know where he is now. The last time I heard about him was that he was married to another woman. He is from Anambra,” she said.
She revealed that since that day, her life has never been the same.
According to her, the son needs a Wheelchair but she can’t afford to buy one for him. She also needs money to start petty business in order to eke out a living and pay her son’s routine medical bill.
The mother explained that caring for her son has been extremely tough — emotionally, physically, and financially. She said her husband, who was a member of the same church, abandoned them when their child turned two years old.
When asked if her husband remarried, she said she heard he already has another wife and has moved on with his life.
