The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives candidate for Abeokuta South Federal Constituency, Chief Toyin Amuzu, has pledged to facilitate legacy projects and sponsor laws that will protect the welfare and general well-being of his constituents if elected in the 2027 general elections.
Amuzu made the pledge during the flag-off of his campaign alongside the party’s Ogun Central Senatorial candidate, Senator Iyabo Obasanjo, at the Ake Palace Ground, Abeokuta.
He said his ambition was driven by a desire to provide quality representation, responsible legislation and meaningful development that would leave a lasting impact on Abeokuta South.
The PDP candidate expressed his determination to leave behind legacies that the people of the constituency would continue to remember, stressing that the welfare and interests of his constituents would remain at the heart of his legislative agenda.
According to him, “quality representation and responsible legislation” would be his watchword, assuring the people that he would not disappoint them if given the mandate.
Amuzu also highlighted some of the community interventions he had undertaken through his personal initiatives, saying the projects were evidence of his commitment to improving the lives of the people. He promised to do more when elected into the House of Representatives.
He urged voters to come out en masse during the election, remain at their polling units to witness the counting of votes and ensure that their votes were properly protected and counted.
Speaking at the event, the PDP governorship candidate in Ogun State, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, urged the people of Ogun Central to support Obasanjo, Amuzu and other candidates of the party, describing them as tested and trusted candidates whose records, he said, remained unmatched.
Adebutu called on voters to reject what he described as non-performance and vote for what he termed “liberation” in the 2027 elections.
He also urged PDP supporters to turn out en masse on January 16, 2027, to vote for the party and defend their votes against intimidation.
In her remarks, the PDP Ogun Central Senatorial candidate, Senator Iyabo Obasanjo, expressed delight at the reception she had received across the senatorial district.
Obasanjo said residents had continued to draw attention to projects and interventions carried out during her previous representation, adding that the impact of her tenure remained evident in the testimonies of people who recalled how her interventions helped many overcome poverty.
She pledged to do more if elected, promising to ensure that the people of Ogun Central enjoy greater dividends of democracy.
The campaign flag-off attracted party leaders, supporters and residents who gathered at the Ake Palace Ground to show solidarity with the candidates and the PDP ahead of the 2027 elections.
