Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, have neutralised 15 terrorists in a precision airstrike north-west of Pulka in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.
The operation was conducted at about 11:50 p.m. on October 23, 2026, following credible intelligence and confirmed sightings of terrorist movements in the area.
In a statement on Friday, the Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, Captain Mohammed Goni, said the airstrike was followed by ground operations to exploit the area and consolidate gains.
He said the successful engagement underscores the sustained pressure being exerted on terrorist elements across the theatre and highlights the effectiveness of intelligence-driven targeting and coordinated military action.
According to him, the operation reflects the commitment of Operation HADIN KAI to denying terrorist groups freedom of action and preventing threats to communities.
Goni added that the operation is part of the sustained offensive posture of troops, supported by effective intelligence gathering and coordinated use of military capabilities to disrupt terrorist activities and strengthen security across the North East.
He reassured the public that troops will sustain the momentum with vigilance, determination and professionalism, in line with the mission to defeat terrorism and insurgency and create conditions for the restoration of normalcy and socio-economic activities.
The Theatre Command also urged members of the public to continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible information on suspicious movements and activities, stressing that military-civilian cooperation remains key to achieving lasting peace.
