Two former Commissioners in Ogun State, Anthony Ojeshina, an engineer, and Hon. Dele Obadina as well as erstwhile Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party((PDP) in the State, Chief Joju Fadairo and Founder, Penpushing Media, Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji are to be conferred with honorary Doctorate awards at an international conference holding in Abeokuta on Saturday August 17, 2024.
Also, 16 other notable personalities drawn from different walks of life are to be conferred with Doctoral honours at the forthcoming Leadership Empowerment International Conference(LEIC) same day.
The award is being conferred by a South-African-based Immanuel Theology Institute International in conjunction with Priesthood Leadership Development Initiative Inc(PLDI) based in Nigeria.
Venue of the conference is the Treasure House of God Global Centre located at Agbeloba, Abeokuta.
The awards ranged from Doctor of Leadership (D.L) and Doctor of Theology(D.Th)
Addressing journalists on Tuesday in Abeokuta, the International Coordinator of Priesthood Leadership Development Initiative incorporated, Prof. Olusesi Obateye disclosed that the honour is being bestowed on the awardees in recognition of their far-reaching contributions and impact on society.
The International Coordinator who was flanked by some officials including, the Chairman, Organizing and Awards Committee, Princess Dr Ronke Joseph-Ogunremi and Executive Secretary, Dr Ayo Arowojolu, said the award conferment forms part of a three-day Leadership Conference billed for Abeokuta beginning from Thursday August 15 till Saturday August 17, 2024.
Also to receive Doctoral honours are Commandant of the State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement (TRACE), Prince ‘Seni Ogunyemi, notable politician and elderstatesman, Hon. Dapo Adeyemi, top businessman, Engr. Oluwatoyin Jokosenumi, ASUSS top shot, Mr Felix Agbesanwa, renowned Adire Promoter, Mrs Lizzy Adeboyejo and Asst Most Superior Evangelist Ebenezer Osofa of the Celestial Church of Christ(CCC).
The rest awardees are Apostle Adetola Adejobi, Engr. Abiodun Oludayo, Mr Ojo Job Olarinsoye, Apostle Michael Olaniyan, Mr Olasupo Arogundade as well as top clerics of CCC, Stephen Adekunle and Jimmy Bajela and K. Ogunmola.
Two of the awardees, Chief Michael Ogunseye and Bukola Jaiyeola who are based in London are to receive their awards at the LEIC United Kingdom Conference slated for August 29th to August 31st, 2024.
The international Coordinator, Prof Obateye, spoke on the theme of the conference “Responsible And Responsive Leadership”, lamenting that the dearth of good leaders remains the bane of Nigeria’s under-development almost 64 years after Independence.
