Ex – governor Gbenga Daniel has congratulated the Awujale and Paramount ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, on his continued impactful reign over the Ijebu people.
Daniel, who is the Senator representing Ogun East in the 10th Senate, in his goodwill message on Saturday night, hailed Oba Adetona’s leadership which he said, has over the decades, served as a pillar of strength and wisdom to the monarch’s people at home and in the diaspora.
The Senator also acknowledged the Awujale’s unwavering commitment to the prosperity and cultural preservation of Ijebuland, adding that through his wise and noble guidance, the Ijebu people have continued to enjoy peace, unity, and purposeful advancement.
The Otunba Obalofin of Ijebuland, a prestigious title bestowed on Daniel, about two decades ago by Oba Adetona, therefore, joined the voices of millions of other people to wish him long reign in good health, divine wisdom, and enduring success.
He stated, “Under your wise and noble guidance, our people have enjoyed peace, unity, and purposeful advancement –qualities that have earned Your Majesty the well-deserved reverence of not just the Ijebu nation, but all of Nigeria and beyond.
“As we move steadily and prayerfully toward the long-anticipated creation of a new state from the historic Ijebu Province, I join the voices of millions in expressing my deepest wishes for your continued reign in good health, divine wisdom, and enduring success. May the Almighty continue to bless your throne and your legacy.
“Furthermore, I wish to extend my hearty congratulations to all our esteemed Giwas, respected Iyalodes, and the gallant officers of the 88 active Regberegbes of Ijebuland. Their sustained dedication to the values, culture, and cohesion of our great land is commendable, and I salute their efforts in preserving the vibrancy of our cherished traditions.
