The ACCORD Party in Ogun State has announced the successful upload of the names of its candidates for the National Assembly onto the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Candidate Nomination Portal, describing the development as a major milestone in its preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The party said the upload was carried out by its national leadership led by National Chairman, Mr. Maxwell Mgbudem, and National Secretary, Hon. (Dr.) Adebukola Ajaja, in compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Act and INEC guidelines.
In a statement issued by the Ogun State Chairman of ACCORD, Hon. Oke Rotimi Michael, the party said the successful submission underscores its commitment to participating fully in the 2027 electoral process.
According to the statement, the party is now looking forward to the opening of the nomination window for governorship and State House of Assembly candidates, which is expected to commence on July 17, 2026.
The party also used the opportunity to dismiss claims of the existence of any faction within ACCORD, insisting that it remains one united political platform at both the national and state levels.
It warned members of the public against dealing with individuals or groups claiming to represent any faction of the party, particularly in Ogun State, describing such persons as impostors without the authority of the party.
“ACCORD is an indivisible political party and not a faction at the national and state levels. Any person or organisation posing as representatives of a faction of ACCORD, especially in Ogun State, is fraudulent and not acting with the authorisation of the Party,” the statement said.
The party added that any attempt to create confusion or impersonate its leadership would be addressed in accordance with the law.
ACCORD further reaffirmed that Alhaji Agbongboakala Olaniyi Okewole remains its duly nominated governorship candidate in Ogun State, having emerged from the party’s governorship primary election held on May 29, 2026, which it said was monitored by INEC.
The Ogun chapter congratulated all its candidates on the successful completion of the nomination process and commended them for their loyalty, commitment and confidence in the party’s leadership.
