The Aremo of Yewaland and Senate Committee Chairman on Appropriation, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, has given a glimpse of his vision for the soon – to – be 50 years old Ogun State ahead of 2O27 general elections.
Senator Adeola popularly called YAYI is yet to declare any intention to contest the 2027 governorship election but his political footprints are sharply visible in the 236 wards, 20 local governments and three senatorial districts of the Gateway State just as his supporters keep urging him to make himself available when the race to Oke – Mosan Governor’s Office begins.
However, in a manner of assuring residents and citizens – home and in the diaspora, Senator Adeola declared that Ogun will soon become the model of progress they have always envisioned.
The Okanlomo of Aworiland and Senator representing Ogun West in the 10th Senate stated the vision briefly in a brochure containing the order of Thanksgiving service for him at the Cathedral Church of Christ, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Ilaro, diocese of Yewa during this year’s edition of his annual thanksgiving service.
He explained that the possibility of the state becoming the model of progress followed his clear vision and foresight of where the state should be in the nearest future.
“We see with clarity the vision and foresight of where Ogun State should be in the nearest future. Every step we take will shape a greater tomorrow, where our people enjoy shared prosperity, sustainable growth, and opportunities that match their aspirations.
“Our State will become the model of progress we have always envisioned, and together, we will build a great future for the Gateway State,” Adeola stated.
“In spite of the challenges we have faced together, your resilience and belief in progress have continued to inspire our work.
“Over the past year, we have taken deliberate steps to deliver tangible dividends of democracy across Ogun West, guided by our shared commitment to inclusive development, effective representation, and the welfare of our people,” he stated.
The church service on Saturday was meant to express heartfelt gratitude to God for His grace upon him as a public servant in the last 22 years and to thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supporting the Senator’s political career.
Earlier in his sermon, Diocesan Bishop Michael Oluwarohunbi, citing the gospel of Luke 17vs 17 – 19 and 1King 3 vs 3 – 15, said that act of gratitude to God is not optional for man but something necessary, mandatory and a foundational key to opening more doors, favour, grace and divine blessings from Him.
Oluwarohunbi charged Senator Adeola to sustain his partnership of thanksgiving to God so as to secure his future in private and public service.
The Bishop prayed God to open the door of Oke Mosan Governor’s Office Abeokuta to Senator Adeola in 2027.
In attendance at the church thanksgiving service were federal lawmakers representing Kwara Central, Saliu Mustapha; the Deputy Chief Whip in the House of Representatives, Hon. Isiaka Ibrahim, who is representing the Ifo – Ewekoro Federal Constituency, as well as the Hon. Minister of State for Health, Dr. Isiaq Salako, Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, former federal lawmaker, Adekunle Adeyemi, former Deputy Governor Segun Adesegun, ex – Speaker Kunle Oluomo, Special Duties Commissioner in the state, Hon. Funmilayo Afuape among others.
