But on Wednesday, Ogun State indigenes living abroad came out with their verdict: ‘Dapo Abiodun is the best man for the job,’ following what they termed as
a dispassionate observation of all the candidates jostling for the position of a Governor of Ogun State in 2023.
The group acting under the aegis of Ogun State Diasporas also launched a song in furtherance of Dapo Abiodun’s second term ambition.
The group said the Ogun state has become the envy of other states in terms of improved infrastructural development, jobs creation and youth empowerments made possible by the Dapo Abiodun’s governance style.
The Coordinator of the group, Engr. Oluyemi Ogundele made this known on Thursday at the Ogun State All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Secretariat, Oke-Mosan Abeokuta, the state capital and followed it with
presentation of souvenirs and political campaign songs made into CDs to the Ogun APC to aide Governor Abiodun’s re-election.
Addressing reporters, Ogundele said Dapo Abiodun – Noimot Salako-Oyedele joint ticket still remains the best team for the job, and urged the electorate to renew the mandate for the two with their votes in March this year.
The group leader said Ogun State has about the highest number of Nigerian professionals abroad, saying a good number of them are eager to partner with Dapo Abiodun led administration to bring more investors to the state.
“We the Ogun State people from diaspora are willing to partner with the state government in their efforts to make our dear state second to none. Ogun state has the largest number of Nigerian professionals abroad. The diaspora are prepared to bring more investors on board. We are also ready to invest in the state,
“The greatest asset of the Gateway state is neither minerals resources nor Agriculture but human resources. Ogun state indigenes are the most successful Nigerians in diaspora.
“We have the Ogun state Diaspora pet project tagged, ‘Adire Carnival.’ Adire Carnival is the biggest Yoruba Culture event outside the shore of Nigeria. It helps to promote Tourism and our cultural heritage. It helps our economy as thousands of Adire fabrics are being exported for the festival,” he disclosed.
