The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II has welcomed another Prince to the House of Oduduwa.
This is coming barely five months after the wealthy Yoruba monarch welcomed a set of twins into the Ife royal family.
Last August, the twins were received by the Ooni in his palace in Ile-Ife, five months and 2 days after he announced their birth by Olori Tobiloba Philips.
The latest addition came through his 4th wife and long time lover, Princess Ashley Folashade Adegoke.
The news of the new born Prince was broken on Tuesday, September 3 on the X platform of the monarch.
Sharing the good news, Oba Ogunwusi wrote, “To God be the glory great things he has done. Hearty congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and Olori Folashade.
“Who today birthed a Prince from the mother side of Ooni Adagba Royal Compound of Lafogido Ruling House and father side of Ooni Agbedegbede Royal Compound of Giesi Ruling house combined to the Royal throne of Oduduwa.
“Mother and child are doing well to the glory of God Almighty and in line with the spirits of our ancestors.”
Ooni and Olori Ashley Folashade wedded traditionally on Friday, October 13, 2022 at the bride’s family house situated on Olubose Street, along Ede road, IIe-Ife.
The Ooni was not physically present at the ceremony that day.
He was also not physically present during his wedding to Tobi Phillips earlier on Sunday, October 9, 2022 but both events had all the trappings of the Yoruba tradition and rich culture.
The Daily Crucible reports that same year 2022, the first class monarch also married Olori Mariam Anako from Ebira land in Kogi State. The 2nd is Olori Elizabeth Opeoluwa Ogunwusi nee Akinmuda who was betrothed to him not long after his marriage to Mariam.
