A former director of the Department of State Services (DSS), Mike Ejiofor, has asked the Federal Government to take necessary steps to extradition Simon Ekpa, a Finland-based leader of the Biafra in exile prime minister of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Ejiofor urged the Nigerian government to begin negotiations with Finnish authorities to repatriate Ekpa for trial in Nigeria for allegedly instigating misguided youths into crimes in the Southeast geopolitical zone.
Ejiofor in a statement on Tuesday, June 4, described Ekpa’s actions in Finland as “worse than those of Nnamdi Kanu” and demanded that he would be sent back to Nigeria for trial.
“Simon Ekpa is not a genuine representative of reasonable people, but rather an influencer of misguided elements.
“If he’s serious, he should come back to Nigeria and direct people to commit crimes. He’s a voice for misguided elements; he’s not a voice for reasonable people. I can’t be listening to him; most people cannot be listening to him.
“What he’s doing in Finland is worse than what Nnamdi Kanu was doing. He should be repatriated for trial,” he said.
Ejiofor’s comments come on the heels of Ekpa’s continued mobilisation of support for the IPOB’s cause from Finland.
Many are worrying about his influence on youths in Igboland.
