The purported dismissal of five Igbein Chiefs by three chiefs has been described as a joke, laughable, primitive, ridiculous and lacking due process.
The Lukosi of Igbeinland, Chief Dada Jesiliu who stated this in Abeokuta through a press release said that the chiefs unduly arrogated power to themselves to the extent of bypassing all existing rules and other protocol by going to air to announce the dismissal of other chiefs in Igbeinland.
” It is very laughable and ridiculous to those that are conversant with Ogboni ethos of which every institution has its own procedure in carrying out its activities, for the trio of Aro, Jaguna and Lukotun to have arrogated power to themselves to the extent of bypassing all existing rules and other protocol by going to the air and publication to announce the dismissal of five other chiefs of a town like Igbein within the jurisdiction of our most respected Kaapbiyesi, Oba Michael Aremu Gbadebo, Okukenu IV, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland is a food for thought for the traditionalists”, Chief Jesiliu enthused.
Chief Jesiliu stressed that they should have decided to keep silence because of the respect they have for the elders at home, saying that the stigmatisation of the publication in front of the public view was worrisome describing the allegation as a total fabrication, masterminded by their sponsors.
According to Lukosi Igbeinland, there are ways in settling Ogboni disputes, and not to the extent of an Ogboni trying to castigate or embarrass another Ogboni, saying such act is ridiculous.
He assured that they will not engage anyone in war of words aimed at disrupting peace of the land over the issue.
Chief Jesiliu promised that the issue will be reported to the appropriate quarters in a civilized manner, adding that as law abiding citizens, Chiefs Idris Oyetunji – Odofin, Mufutau Obayomi- Lisa, Surajudeen Aiyenreti- Baala, Nurudeen Olowolagba- Apena and Dada Jesiliu – Lukosi are still the authentic holders of their various positions urging the general public to disregard the purported publication.
