Daniel Dubois retained the IBF heavyweight title on Saturday by knocking out former two-time world champion Anthony Joshua in the fifth round in a dominant first defense of his belt.
During the duel at Wembley Stadium in London, England, Joshua who had already been floored in the first and third rounds, caved in as he fell forward face first after Dubois dealt him a powerful straight right hand hit, compelling the referee to end the fight.
The event drew a record post-war boxing crowd of 96,000 fans in Britain.
By solidifying his status as a heavyweight champion, Dubois has positioned himself for a potential matchup with the winner of the rematch between WBA, WBC, and WBO champion Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury.
