A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Alhaji Fasiu Ajadi, has dismissed the chances of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2027 general election, claiming the opposition party may struggle to survive long enough to participate in the poll.
Speaking on Political Forum, a radio programme hosted by Dele Ayodo on Saturday, Ajadi attributed his prediction to what he described as deep-rooted divisions within the PDP, saying the party remains heavily factionalised.
The APC stalwart also criticised the recent defection of former APC governorship aspirant, Iyabo Obasanjo, and others to the PDP, describing the move as one driven by desperation.
Ajadi further alleged that the opposition party is attempting to woo members ahead of the 2027 election through financial inducements and other incentives.
The commissioner in the Ogun State House of Assembly Service Commission, however, maintained that the ruling APC is unshaken by the wave of political movements, insisting that the party remains focused and is already strengthening its structure ahead of the election.
He added that the APC and its governorship candidate are confident of consolidating their position in the state before the next electoral contest.
