No fewer than 25 operatives of the Osun State Amotekun Corps were arrested after their operational base in Osogbo, the state capital, was stormed by the police following killings by the corps at Akinlalu town.
The police armed squad also sealed the Amotekun base.
The Daily Crucible reports that some Amotekun Corps operatives invaded Akinlalu community market last Tuesday and opened fire on people, killing three members of a family and another person. Several people also sustained gunshot wounds during the shooting.
However, over 25 corps of the security outfit were arrested by Inspector General of Police(IGP) squad who invaded the base.
The squad also sealed the Amotekun office located at Ife Central Local Government Area of Osun State, according to the Public Relations Officer of Osun Amotekun, Yusuf Idowu, who confirmed it.
“They arrested 20 Amotekun corps when the IGP squad burst our operational base located at Oke-Fia, Osogbo on Wednesday. Our office at Ife Central was also sealed and five of our men were arrested.”
