The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited, Ambassador (Dr) Babatunde Adeyemo, has saluted the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Police Command, Barr. Lanre Ogunlowo on his birthday.
Ogunlowo, an indigene of the State, succeeded Mr. Abiodun Alamutu at the Eleweran headquarters, the seat of Ogun State command of the Nigerian Police Force(NPF) as the Police Commissioner on December 20, 2024.
Ambassador Adeyemo, a major player in the Nigerian real estate sector and veteran broadcast journalist in statement on Wednesday and made available to newsmen in Abeokuta, the state capital, congratulated Ogunlowo as he gracefully turned an additional year today. The anti corruption Ambassador described the Ogun CP as a thoroughbred professional, committed and experienced security officer who hit the ground running since assuming office in the state.
The real estate entrepreneur noted that Ogunlowo’s commendable leadership and wealth of experience are palpably visible in the manner he has scaled down crimes rate in the last 9 months through professionalism, display of valour, intelligence and tech – driven policing in the state, even as he prayed the Almighty God to grant him more strength, long life, good health and wisdom in his laudable service to the state, the nation and humanity.
Adeyemo who is the brain behind Pelican Valley Estate Laderin, where unusual home happens and the Pelican Brief Estate, Pelican Ecostay Apartments and Pelican Greenish Acre Farm Estate – all located at Abeokuta – Kobape corridor of Ogun State, also hailed Ogunlowo for his commitment to law enforcement, especially his firm stance against land grabbers and illegal actors in land affairs, saying this has ensured relative peace and boosted investors confidence in the state real estate sector.
He recalled that Ogunlowo proved his mettle when barely a month as CP in the state, he accomplished the formidable task of rescuing Mrs. Folasade Odumosu, wife of former Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Hakeem Odumosu, from kidnappers, who on January 16, 2025, was seized and taken away by armed masked men near her residence in Arepo, a border town adjoining Lagos.
According to Adeyemo, this singular act of bravely and commitment to saving life sent an unmistakable stern warnings to criminal elements within Ogun State that a new sheriff is in town and that the Ogunlowo-led team remains steadfast and determined to safeguard lives, properties and businesses, thereby sustaining safe environment for business to thrive.
He said, “We felicitate Lanre Ogunlowo on your birthday, your integrity and professionalism represent a new dawn in the Gateway State. Since assuming office as Commissioner of Police, you have continued to enhance the state’s security architecture and address crime-related challenges and this was immediately apparent.
“We recall with joy that he accomplished the formidable task of rescuing Mrs. Folasade Odumosu, wife of former Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Hakeem Odumosu, from kidnappers, who on 16 January 2025, was abducted by four masked gunmen near her residence in Arepo, a border town adjoining Lagos.
“That feat which was achieved with valour and promptness in response to the situation sent an unmistakable stern warnings to criminal elements within Ogun State: that a new sheriff is in town and that the Ogunlowo-led team was steadfast and determined to safeguard lives, properties and businesses.”
