2027: Daniel, Tambuwal, Fayemi, 23 Others Lead Summit Seeking New Path For Nigeria’s Constitutional Democracy

Senator Gbenga Daniel, Aminu Tambuwal, ex – governor Boni Haruna, Donald Duke, Kayode Fayemi, Labaran Maku, Awolowo Dosumu, Ben Obi, human rights activist Shehu Sanni, Senator Daisy Danjuma, Aisha Ismail, 15 others will be unveiled as coordinators of planned National Political Summit of Nigeria as critical stakeholders intensified search for a Constitutional Democracy that works for all.

The unveiling of Daniel, Tambuwal, Duke, Fayemi and others has been scheduled to hold on Thursday, 1st of May (May Day) 2025 in Lagos as members of a high level Convening Committee to coordinate the proposed National Political Summit of Nigeria slated for May, 28 and 29, 2025 as the country inches gradually towards another political dispensation.

This followed a renewed quest for a secure Nigeria and new stakeholders’ legislative bill for inclusive political reforms.

National Political Summit and made available to The Daily Crucible on Wednesday, stated that elder statesman and former Secretary General of the Commonwealth, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, who Chairs The Patriots, will unveil the coordinators in Lagos tomorrow.

According to the statement, the Joint Secretariat of The Patriots and Nigerian Political Summit Group, NPSG, initiators of the National Summit, the historic Pan Nigerian Confab is being put together to xray and chart a new course for Nigeria’s Constitutional Democracy, 25 years after civil rule was re instituted in Nigeria.

The conveners described the planned summit as stakeholders’ response and intervention to the heightening insecurity and instability in parts of the country.

They also noted that the National Summit, holding under the broad theme: “Actualising A Constitutional Democracy That Works For All in Nigeria” is designed to galvanise national consensus on the most suitable and inclusive governance construct and architecture for political cohesion and stability of Nigeria, while exploring the ongoing constitution reform process of the Federal Government.

According to them, it should be seen as a veritable vista for actualizing the popular yearnings of Nigerians for a new democratic people’s Constitution capable of neutralising internal disharmony and separatist insecurity, which accounts for massive unabated loss of lives and wanton destructions in the country.

“We wish to state that the national summit on the future of Nigeria’s Constitutional Democracy has been slated to hold on the 28th & 29th May, 2025 with its key deliverable as an inclusive Constitutional Bill to be presented to the Federal Government for the actualisation of an all inclusive and popular constitutional reform of Nigeria,” the statement reaffirmed.

The statement further announced the Composition of the Summit Coordinating Committee, to be inaugurated tomorrow in Lagos, as follows:
