ABEOKUTA: The Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele has described late Senator Ayodeji Otegbola as an asset to Ogun West and Ogun State at large, saying he will be sorely missed by the community he represented.
Mrs Noimot Salako-Oyedele made this known during a condolence visit to the family of the late lawmaker in Lagos.
She noted that the nonagenarian’s impact was felt not just in his political space but also professionally, religiously as well as intellectually.
The Deputy Governor who led a powerful delegation from Ota to the residence of the deceased, said Chief Otegbola left legacies that even she as a Deputy Governor was riding on, stressing that he was a pride to the good people of Awori land, Ogun West and Ogun State in general
According to her, Sen Otegbola had many loyalists and children beyond his biological ones which she is one.
She said that despite the fact that he was no longer active in the political space, he remained revered and respected to the very end, even as she also prayed the Almighty God to grant him eternal rest.
The Deputy Governor charged members of his immediate family to be consoled by the fact that he led a good life filled with impactful moments.
She encouraged them to build on the legacies of their patriarch, while also promising governments support at ensuring he has a befitting burial.
Responding on behalf of the family, Mr Adewale Otegbola appreciated the Deputy Governor for taking time out of her busy schedule to visit them, saying it shows how highly placed Chief Otegbola was to her.
He noted that The Deputy Governor was the first top Government official to pay the family a condolence visit added that the family will continue to uphold all that he stood for in his lifetime.
