Odo Jobore in Odogbolu local government area of Ogun State came alive on Thursday with gusts of excitement as their representative in Ogun State House of Assembly (OGHA), Hon. Lukman Adeleye, donated a set of 500kva transformer to light up the agrarian community ahead of the 2024 Ileya festival.
Hon. Adeleye who is the minority leader of the OGHA said the transformer would be connected to the national grid before the Ileya festival.
He said it was challenging getting the new transformer, but added that he remained fulfilled as it was another attestation to his resolve to keep one of the promises made during the electioneering period.
He noted that with electricity the people can easily carry on their businesses, earn a living and positively contribute their quota to the economy of the nation.
The state lawmaker acknowledged the input of Chief Oladipupo Adebutu and the Kabiyesi elect of Odo Jobore, Prince Olalekan Odubanjo, and commended them for their support at joining him to make the donation a reality.
Excited Chief Imam of Odo Jobore, Alhaji Ogunbowale Ayodele thanked the lawmaker for his intervention, recalling that the community had been in darkness for eight (8) months.
He also lauded him Adeleye for the passion to develop his constituents, stressing that he has distinguished himself as a new breed politician who sticks to his words.
Other residents of Odo Jobore especially the women were full of joy as they danced round the community in appreciation of the lawmaker’s kind gesture.
