In a powerful celebration of Children’s Day, IA-Foundation brought joy and hope to 100 street children in Mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos on May 27, 2025.
The outreach, held in the spirit of love, inclusion, and advocacy for education, was a heartfelt reminder of the Foundation’s mission to support Nigeria’s most vulnerable children.
What made the event truly remarkable was the personal commitment of the IA-Foundation team, who hand-picked each child off the streets in the days leading up to the celebration. These children who are often left to navigate life alone were welcomed into a space of safety, encouragement, and care.
The event included a brief introduction to IA-Foundation’s vision: to eradicate the growing number of out-of-school children in Nigeria and ensure access to quality education for every child.The children were then treated to an inspiring talk on the power of education, delivered by the IA-Foundation team.
They were also encouraged to dream beyond their circumstances and embrace the life-changing potential of learning.The tone shifted to celebration as the event came alive with dancing, games, and laughter. Each child received thoughtfully selected gifts, made possible through the generosity of the Foundation and its supporters.
Mrs. Ibironke Adeagbo, Founder and CEO of IA-Foundation, stressed the importance of not neglecting these children, warning that failure to do so would only increase poverty and insecurity in the country.
She encouraged NGOs to collaborate and support the government in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4) by ensuring children have access to quality education.To close the day, a vibrant group photo captured the smiles and joy shared among the children, volunteers, and Foundation team.
More than a celebration, the IA-Foundation’s Children’s Day outreach was a call to action: a reminder that every child deserves a chance to learn, grow, and thrive. By taking these children off the streets and into a space of joy and encouragement, the Foundation continues to reaffirm its unwavering commitment to building a brighter future through education.
