The Acting Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun has congratulated leading broadcaster, Mrs Funmi Wakama, on her remarkable retirement from the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA).
Mrs Wakama recently retired honorably from the Africa’s largest television network, performing her distinguished role as the General Manager at the NTA Abeokuta, after 35 years of dedicated service.
In a statement by the Force Spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi, IGP Egbetokun eulogized Mrs Wakama’s virtues of steadfast dedication to her profession and her unwavering commitment to upholding the values of integrity and excellence in service, noting that the retired broadcaster had set a shining example for all.
The Acting IGP also reckoned that Mrs. Wakama’s commitment, diligence, and exemplary leadership left an indelible mark on the broadcasting industry and the nation as a whole.
He equally congratulated the ex – media aide to the then Governor Ibikunle Amosun on being installed as the Yeye Fiwagboye of Owu Kingdom by His Royal Majesty, Oba (Prof.) Saka Ademilola Metemilola, saying the recognition by the revered royal father, “is a testament to her outstanding contributions to both the media sector and the wider community, and it underscores the respect and admiration she has garnered throughout her illustrious career.”
The statement reads in part, “Mrs. Wakama’s commitment, diligence, and exemplary leadership have left an indelible mark on the broadcasting industry and the nation as a whole. Her steadfast dedication to her profession and her unwavering commitment to upholding the values of integrity and excellence have set a shining example for all.
“Furthermore, the IGP is pleased to acknowledge and celebrate Mrs Wakama’s well-deserved conferment of a chieftaincy title by the esteemed Olowu of Owu, His Royal Majesty, Oba Prof. Saka Adelola Matemilola, Oluyalo Otileta VII. This recognition is a testament to her outstanding contributions to both the media sector and the wider community, and it underscores the respect and admiration she has garnered throughout her illustrious career.
