A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by the chairman, Alhaji Taminu Turaki, on Saturday visited former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, over matters believed to be connected to the 2027 general elections.
Turaki and former governors of Niger and Plateau States respectively – Alhaji Aliyu Muazu Babangida and Senator Jonah Jang who stormed Obasanjo’s residence on Saturday about 11:40am entered a closed door meeting with the ex – president at his sprawling Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) Abeokuta.
They were joined by other chieftains of the party in the closed door meeting with the elder statesman, who led the country between 1999 and 2007 on the platform of the PDP before quitting partisan politics over a decade ago.
