Ekiti State governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji has slammed some of his political appointees whom he accused of not defending his administration on the social media platforms despite their being on government monthly payroll.
Governor Oyebanji, in a viral video clip said such appointees could not come out to defend the because they were eating from the government and the opposition at the same time.
He lamented that the disloyal appointees are members of many social media platforms where his administration is routinely bashed but chose to remain quiet they were “eating from both sides” and failing to defend the government they serve.
He said, “We need to seize the social media space. It’s not as if they’re winning the battle, but some of you, my appointees, because they’re eating from both sides, they cannot even come out and defend the government. I’m telling you. Very few of them, they will be on platforms where they’re attacking us and they will keep mute.
“They won’t be able to talk and they’re collecting salaries every month. I’m marking them one by one. I’m not going to talk, now but be rest assured, those of you that are on the platforms where they’re dragging us and you kept quiet, and you’re collecting money from this administration, we will come for you at the appropriate time.”
