Chioma Blessing Nwaka, a 37-year-old woman who was brutally múrdered by her jealous husband has been laid to rest amid tears in Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Chioma was set ablàze by her husband, Obiozor Nwaka over allegations of infidelity on January 21, 2025 at Eziezekwe village.
The mother of five díed the following day at a hospital as a result of the burns she sustained during the incident.
Chioma’s déath in the horrific act of domestic violence has drawn widespread condemnation, with the general public, grieving family members, human rights activists and civil society groups calling for justice.
Her body arrived at her father’s compound in Irefi Oraifite, Ekwusigo LGA for a brief stopover before being conveyed to Abagana for final burial on Friday, June 27.
Family, friends and sympathizers gathered in mournful silence to pay their final respects to the woman described as a hardworking, kind-hearted, devoted wife and mother.
She is survived by five 5 children, according to LIB.
