Armed fighters suspected to be members of the proscribed Indigenous People Of Biafra(IPOB) abd Eastern Security Network(ESN) militia, have invaded a brothel near Uli town in Awka, Anambra State, kílling a soldier and a young boy in the process.
The attack which happened on Saturday, May 17, 2025, also left a young woman with injury from stray bullets.
The assailants were said to have stormed the brothel identified as “Uru Di Ya” near Uli center around 9:00 p.m in two unmarked vehicles, opened fire, killing the soldier on duty and a yet – to – be identified little boy.
The young woman caught in the gunfire was admitted to a hospital, stabilized, and is responding to treatment.
It was learnt that a joint police and vigilante team rushed to the scene, but the assailants fled before they arrived.
The deceased soldier’s AK-47 rifle was recovered by member of a vigilante team and handed over to the army.
